Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one method within the broad scope of the practice of Chinese Medicine. The history of Chinese Medicine stretches back over at least 2000 years and the practice of Acupuncture has been refined over this period.

It is an holistic approach to healthcare in that the body is viewed as a unit and every part is seen to be in relationship with the whole.

Diagnosis involves forming a picture of a whole pattern of 'dysharmony' and developing an understanding of both the roots of a problem as well as their expression in disease, distress or dysfunction.

The flow of energy is freed to allow the expression of ease, health and function. A wide range of conditions can be treated and it is not just a method of pain control or a way to help overcome addiction.

The principal aim of acupuncture in treating the whole person is to recover the equilibrium between the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the individual.

Simon Prideaux has studied in London, France and China and is registered with the British Acupuncture Association (no. 951323).

He is an experienced practitioner who has worked in both private practice and for the NHS.

Simon's main areas of interest are in the treatment of gynaecological conditions, Infertility and the use of Acupuncture in pregnancy and birth.
