Herbal Medicine
Simon has undergone training in both Western and Eastern herbal traditions
and is a member of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine.
Like Acupuncture it is a branch of Chinese Medicine, but unlike Acupuncture
herbal Medicine was to be found in most cultures including a strong tradition
of Phytotherapy in Europe.
Chinese herbal Medicine has proved its effectiveness over more than 2000
years and is well tried and tested. When properly prescribed and taken as
prescribed herbal medicine is a safe form of healthcare. Side-effects or
adverse effects can occur but are usually much less than those encountered
with conventional drugs.
'Chinese medicine is successfully used for a very wide range of conditions.
Among the more commonly treated disorders are:
Skin disease, including eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, urticaria
Gastro-intestinal disorders, including irritable bowel syndrome,

dysmenorrhoea, endometriosis, infertility
Hepatitis and HIV: some promising results have been obtained for
treatment of Hepatitis C, and supportive treatment may be beneficial in the case of HIV

or in other situations
